As we look over the things we are thankful for this year, let us remember not only the good things that we have enjoyed but also the difficult. We have faced so many challenges and yet we are still here and still forging ahead. By the grace of God we will continue to go on because of the victory that was won for us at Calvary. Reflect on the changes that have come to our lives and ask, "What do you want me to learn from this, Lord?" Give thanks that God has blessed us with joy and sadness, gain and loss, peace and anxiety, health and sickness, because through them all He is showing us how He can transform us into disciples that are compassionate toward the plight of others who need the gospel of salvation.
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works."--Psalm 105:1-2 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."--I Thessalonians 5:16-18 "I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting"--I Timothy 2:8 "Pure and undefined religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and keep oneself unspotted from the world."--James 1:27 "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased."--Hebrews 13:15-16 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."--Romans 12:1-2 "Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ."--II Thessalonians 3:5 "We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because you have taken your great power and reigned."--Revelation 11:17 -Sean McCallister
